Human Resources

TDC is an equal opportunity employer, and counting the Parent Company and all its Subsidiary and Associated Companies, the organization employs approximately 725 staff members.  As defined in its Mission Statement, TDC is committed to staff development via continuous training and this is epitomized by the ongoing staff developmental training programs available.  Annually, the Company expends thousands of dollars hosting such programs, which are facilitated by both internal and external trainers.   Be it new employee orientation, technical competency and/or product knowledge workshops, or client service-oriented seminars, employees at all levels are exposed to a series of programs aimed at enhancing staff professionalism and overall performance.

The Human Resources unit is highly involved in the ensuring that each department is managed by a fully qualified individual, as evidenced by the level of experience and qualifications possessed by the management team at TDC.  These include:

The Human Resources department is also responsible for student development as exemplified by the TDC Warren Tyson and the M. L. King Scholarship Programs that are managed by said department.

Warren C. Tyson  Memorial Scholarship Program

The TDC Warren Tyson Memorial Scholarship program, which was named after the first Chairman, Mr. Warren C. Tyson, was started in 1981.  The program is designed to assist and support students entering the secondary schools across St. Kitts-Nevis.  These young scholars are eligible to receive financial assistance throughout their secondary and tertiary school tenures.  Students are also afforded the opportunity to work at TDC during their vacations, e.g., Easter, Summer, and Christmas, as well as on Saturdays, which helps them to develop socially and professionally. Another related benefit is the fact that these students also receive a stipend while at work.  Accordingly, the financial and academic benefits plus the experience and maturity that are gleaned from this opportunity are invaluable.  Since its inception, approximately 150 students have gone through the program.  Today, some of these Warren Tyson Scholars are at University pursuing further studies, Kafa Burt and Almeisha Richardson, while others are full time employees within the Company.  Many also hold Managerial and/or supervisory positions in various departments including Edward Claxton, Dennis Amory, Elvia Benjamin, Belinda Claxton, Mary Browne, Dennis Maynard, Natasha Joseph-Thompson, Collin Walwyn.

The Michael King Advanced Education Scholarship Program

King Advanced Education Scholarship Program is a partial scholarship program provided by TDC as an employee benefit.  The main objective of the program is to provide financial assistance for employees wishing to pursue advanced educational programs at home and abroad.
