| The TDC Warren Tyson Scholarship Programme, which was named after the first Chairman, Warren Cecil Tyson, was started in 1981. Mr. Tyson was first employed with J. W. Thurston & Co. Ltd., as a Clerk in 1928. He was subsequently promoted to an Executive Director with the Firm in 1958, which he held until the Company went into liquidation in 1973. |

| In 1982, the City Drug Store (2005) Limited instituted the Science Excellence Award; in recognition of the efforts of academically gifted students who perform exceptionally well in Science and related subjects. The Annual monetary award is presented at the Secondary Schools' Graduation Ceremonies. |
